Hello! I’m Ali, your local Labor Member for Kalgoorlie.
I’ve lived in the Goldfields for over 20 years. I’m a proud Mum and Nanna and my family has been active in this community for decades. I love living in Kalgoorlie - Boulder, I've been here, through the good and bad times. I love the unique community feel and the people, I want to make the region better for generations to come.
For most of my life, I have worked in education and know how important quality education is for our kids. I’ve long been an advocate for our region through my work as President of the Goldfields Women’s Health Care Centre, the Goldfields Development Commission, and more recently as a small business owner.
I was the 101st women elected into the 41st Parliament in March 2021 and was honoured to undertake the role as Acting Speaker for that term. I was thrilled to be re-elected in March 2025 into the 42nd Parliament and was honoured and humbled to have been chosen by the Premier, to be the Deputy Speaker for the legislated assembly.
The Kalgoorlie Electorate has now grown! Now as well as the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder, the Shires of Laverton, Leonora, Menzies, Coolgardie and Dundas, the Electorate now includes the Shires of Wiluna and Ngaanyatjarraku. Kalgoorlie is the state’s second largest electorate covering 754,990 square kilometers and 29.9% of the state, and an area almost as large as New South Wales.
I’m passionate about doing as much as I can for the whole community and am honoured to be part of the Roger Cook Team, advocating continuously for us through Parliament.
My door is always open, so please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help please either complete a Meeting request (under Online Request on my website complete Meeting request form) or pop into 227 Hannan Street.
